I'm blogging in full fleece pajama's from my bed. I'm sick. I have a small chest infection and maybe a little bit of flu. I'm asthmatic so I have a tendency to get chest infections especially during the winter. I felt like my asthma wasn't great for a few days and during my session on Tuesday it was much harder work to run fast than it has been for the past 7 weeks. Yesterday I went to the doctor and ever since I've been laying low trying to get better.
It's a pain being sick because all I wanna do is train. I feel too crap to even enjoy the time off. I'm very cranky about it all.
Also today Peter left for Australia. He has his Olympic qualifiers out there. I was the worst company for the past two days because I feel so miserable. Luckily for me he was lovely enough to do an emergency food shop so that I can survive for the next few days. The shop includes lots of soup, ginger, lemon and a little chocolate (don't judge me I'm sick!)
So now it's myself and Berlino here in bed sick and cranky. Berlino is obviously not sick but due to her loyal nature she is embracing the situation fully and lying on the bed with me looking suitable dejected. We are watching Grey's Anatomy and trying to cheer up. Despite the fact that I trained last Tuesday it feels like I've been stuck in forever. Part of being an athlete I reckon is our complete lack of perspective at times so currently I feel like I'm the only sick person around and that this mini flu is the end of the world!
I hope to regain my perspective soon and perhaps even be a little bit less cranky.
(Insert cough, cough here)
